Mercer Island is a six mile long island in the southern half of Lake Washington. It is connected to the mainland by twin, two mile long floating bridges which span the lake and connect to the island at its northern tip. Seattle is on the west end of the bridge and Bellevue/Kirkland is to the east. Bellevue's skyline is visible in the top left of the photo.
